Meeting with Mims Davies, MP for Eastleigh

12 Nov 2018
Mims Davies, MP and Chris White

Chris White, Development Director for Driving Miss Daisy® met with Mims Davies, MP for Eastleigh, Hampshire, today. With a franchise now based in Eastleigh, this was a good opportunity to introduce the Daisy service to the MP and her team. Mims was impressed with the service provision and in particular the branded wheelchair accessible vehicle used to provide the service.

The recognition that all our communities need to focus on ways to keep people mobile and connected with their local area, is a shared interest, especially for older persons needing such a service.

Chris explained the driving and companion service offered by Driving Miss Daisy®, and gave instances where it had been used in the Eastleigh area. Driving Miss Daisy® look forwards to supporting work and projects in this area that connect people, and we look forward to updating Mims on progress in the future.

Transport for the most vulnerable in society is area of increasing concern and meeting with local MPs to introduce the Driving Miss Daisy® services is a good step to signposting various organisations to talk about a collective approach to a growing problem.
